About Enigma Nutrition

I started Enigma Nutrition to make nutrition simpler, more personalized, and truly practical—especially for those managing Type 1 diabetes while living active, performance-driven lives.

As a Dietitian and athlete with Type 1 diabetes, I saw the gap between needlessly complicated advice and real-world needs. Enigma Nutrition was built to close that gap and help people fuel with confidence, improve performance, and take control of their health.

About Me

I Don’t Just Teach Diabetes — I Live It

I was 11 years old when I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

Overnight, life changed. Blood sugar checks. Insulin. Food labels. Questions no other kid around me had to think about.

But here’s what didn’t change:
I still loved to move. I still loved to compete. I still loved feeling strong.

Sports became more than just something I enjoyed. Sports became my outlet. My way of proving to myself that diabetes didn’t get to decide what I could or couldn’t do.

I never asked, “Can I do this?”
The question was always: How do I make this work?”

How do I train and keep my blood sugars steady?
How do I compete and recover well?
How do I live fully with diabetes, not in spite of it?

That mindset became my foundation.

And it’s the same philosophy I bring to every client I work with.

We don’t start with restriction.
We don’t start with fear.
We don’t start with “you can’t.”

We start with strategy.

Because diabetes doesn’t mean you have to sit on the sidelines.
It means you need the right tools, the right education, and the right support.

And when you have those?
You stop asking if you can live the life you want and start learning how.

Education & Credentials

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona before completing my Dietetic Internship at Tucson Medical Center.

I have been a CDR-credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) since 2021, practicing in Arizona, and became a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) in 2024 through the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education.

My work is grounded in evidence-based nutrition science but shaped by real-life application.

Athlete. Competitor. Lifelong Student of Performance.

Movement has always been part of who I am.

I’ve competed in multiple sports over the years — from basketball to water polo to jiu-jitsu and judo. My primary athletic focus was track and field, with 14+ years throwing shot put, discus, hammer, and weight events including 5 years throwing for the University of Arizona.

Since college, I’ve dabbled in fencing and found a home in the Highland Games, which has been my main sport since. Along the way, I’ve added training and competing in jiu-jitsu and judo — learning firsthand how to balance blood sugars, performance, recovery, and life responsibilities between every sport.

I don’t just teach about balancing health, nutrition, and performance.

I live it.

And I understand the discipline it takes — not just in sport, but in building a sustainable, healthy life.

My Mission
